A law is something that is consistent and universal, like the law of gravity. If gravity only worked in one country, or if it only worked sometimes, then it would be a phenomenon, not a law. The life the Spirit brings to the believer is consistent and universal. It never fails to set believers free from the consistent and universal death that sin produces. But this freedom has to be appropriated. Many slaves were freed by the Emancipation Act, but not all of them went free immediately because they had the truth hidden from them. Likewise, we have been freed, but not all Christians experience that freedom because they are ignorant of what is rightfully theirs.
But Romans 8, and specifically this verse, brings people the good news that what could not be done by human effort has been done through the power of the Holy Spirit. Christians are no longer slaves to the law of sin and death.
Because the law of the Spirit of life has set us free from the law of sin and death, we no longer reap Deuteronomy 28:15-68, even though we haven’t kept every precept of the Law. Christ redeemed us from these curses of the Law (Galatians 3:13). Praise God that we don’t have to receive the wages of sin, which is death.

He is greater than all these Things and because Jesus was crucified and resurrected on the third day, we get to get Into the Kingdom of God, and because we’re in the Kingdom, we’re Authorized to preach the Kingdom. Jesus became what we were and suffered what we should have suffered so that we could become what He is and experience what He has. Jesus came to show us who God is and that’s not all, He also came to show us Us. Who we are in Him.

Jesus only spoke what He heard His Father speak, and then the Father did the works or miracles. That’s the way it works for us. We must hear what the Lord wants us to say. Then when we speak God’s words without doubting (Mark 11:23), the Father does the work.
